Digital Marketing Mistakes You Should Avoid
GMB IT | February 16, 2025
We now know the benefits of using social media, particularly for business. However, not everyone may be aware of how to use it correctly to their advantage. While it may seem that social media marketing is simple, it actually involves complex methods that businesses should follow to be successful. Sharing content becomes easier once you start to understand the intricacies of social media marketing. You see, more than just posting content, this would also require keen observation, analysis, and modification of strategies. So, you know that it involves work, too, and not just posting anything that you think you would want to share with your audience. Here are some common mistakes and ways to fix each error. 1. Putting little effort into sharing excellent content. As a customer myself, I feel that businesses just “post-away” without considering how their audience/customers think. I recommend that apart from just sharing an image with a short caption, sharing videos can get the audience more engaged. The customers would want something to see that they can be a part of or can relate to. 2. The company brand does not speak well through the content. More than just posting an image or a video, it should directly connect with the kind of brand you want to be identified as. Customers should trust brand loyalty, and that can only happen if it is well translated through the posts shared. 3. Incorrect content delivery. Different social media platforms use different ways to deliver content, from image size and formatting to sharing the content. There are specific ways how to write content on these other platforms. The best way is to choose an expert in doing this and never post precisely the same content at the same time on different mediums. 4. Inconsistent content posting. How often should one post for their business? Some would do it every day, while others would do it three times a week. For me, either way, it can work. What is not suitable for the business is lacking consistency. Let's say last week, there were posts every day, and then the following week, none. What do you think the customers would think about the business? It is recommended to have consistency in posting. You can actually schedule your posts ahead of time so that you won't miss posting for the following weeks. The character would let the customers know when you post to check what you want to share every time. 5. Relying so much on automation. I did mention that there are ways in which you can share your content ahead of time by taking advantage of automatic scheduling. Your work is not done after posting your content. Still, you would want to connect with your audience. You should find time to interact with your customers because you allow them to feel valued. They do not want to deal with a bot. The customers may also like to share their thoughts which any business should have a way of connecting with their customers. 6. Failing to acknowledge others’ help. Businesses today seek help from influencers to spread the word about their brands. And it should be out of courtesy to give credit to these people because somehow, with the help the word about their brands. of their enormous followers, your brand gets out and start to be recognized. So, these followers can actually become one of your loyal customers. Aside from being endorsed by their favorite celebrities/influencers, one follower can promote your brand to their family and friends. Which could even gain you more customers. 7. Lacking strategy and unable to identify the right target market. Before starting the business, you already have a target market in mind. Hence, all your shared posts should contain exciting content that can be appreciated by the good market. You cannot just post something without thinking if it will attract your target market. There is a need to strongly strategize your content and present your products to create brand awareness and customer loyalty. Social media is a business ally. People learn about the products and engage with businesses and other customers to help make purchasing decisions. Failing to show up under relevant hashtags means you are losing your opportunity for customers to be aware of your existence. Thus unable to have options to help solve their problems. Setting up social media accounts to promote your business should be part of your business plan. You don't need to start on all platforms simultaneously but to make small steps until you reach the time that you have mastered how to ideally share contents that will drive great results. ------------------------------------------------------ You may contact Armando "Butz" Bartolome for questions and more information.
